BEACH BUM IN CEBU

Cebu is where I discovered what tropical paradise really means. White sand beaches stretched for miles, the water transitioned from shallow teal to deep sapphire in the space of a few strokes, and the sun burned gold each evening into a sea that seemed to glow from within.

I based myself in Moalboal, a laid-back beach town on the southwestern coast where the main attractions were simply swimming, snorkeling, and doing absolutely nothing. Sardine Run, a massive ball of fish that swirled in formation just offshore, left me breathless – thousands of silver fish moving as one organism, accompanied by curious sea turtles.

Island hopping revealed hidden coves accessible only by boat, coral gardens teeming with clownfish and nudibranchs, and fishing villages where time moved at the pace of oars in water. The菲律宾笑容 were everywhere – genuine, warm, and utterly infectious.

Evenings on Cebu meant fresh grilled seafood, San Miguel beers, and sunsets that photographers travel the world for. I spent a week here and could have spent a month. Some places just get paradise right.
